Overview
KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are the measurement units your organization uses to track progress on Targets.
Go to Settings (the gear icon on the main nav, admins only) → KPIs.
KPI Types
BRIDGE ONE supports three types of KPI:
| Type | What it is | Coverage & contribution |
|---|---|---|
| Absolute | Countable, actual things — e.g. 100 apples, 50 bananas. | Calculated automatically: a subtarget's contribution to its parent is its Target Value compared to the parent's (e.g. a subtarget worth 10 under a parent worth 50 contributes 20%). |
| Relative | Ratios or indexes — often, but not always, percentages. | Set manually — the parent Target's owner enters each subtarget's contribution. Coverage is then calculated in the same way as for Absolute KPIs. |
| Compound | A ratio or percentage built from a numerator and a denominator, each an Absolute KPI — e.g. 5 won out of 100 proposals. | Calculated automatically from the numerator, weighted by the subtarget's share of the parent's denominator. |
For how contribution and coverage are calculated for each type, see Managing Target Coverage.
Creating a KPI
Go to the KPIs list, then click the floating action button in the bottom right. A KPI needs:
- Name
- Description (optional)
- Type — Absolute, Relative or Compound (see above)
- Prefix or suffix — one or the other, not both. A prefix might be a currency symbol (e.g.
$); a suffix might be a unit likekm/h,km, oremployees(headcount), placed after the number. - Decimal places
A live preview updates as you fill in the form. Save once it looks right.
Creating a Compound KPI
Compound KPIs have a few extra settings. After you set Type to Compound, a formula section appears:
% automatically and the Prefix/Suffix controls are locked.€.Editing and Deleting
- To edit a KPI, click it in the list — this opens a modal with all its options.
- To delete a KPI, use the More Options button on the list item, then Delete KPI. This requires double confirmation.
