Overview
Calendars represent fiscal years. This matters most for Target Houses, since Target Houses are directly tied to fiscal years — if no calendar exists for a given year, Target Houses can't be created for that year.
Go to Settings (the gear icon on the main nav, admins only) → Calendar.
Fiscal year basics
A calendar is always exactly 12 months — one fiscal year — but you choose when it starts (January, March, April, etc.). Fiscal year start dates vary by organization: most start in January to align with standard financial reporting, but some start in April, September, or another month.
Creating a Calendar
Click the floating action button in the bottom right. A modal opens where you:
- Choose the year from the available list.
- Optionally enable “automatically create all target houses” — a shortcut that creates Target Houses for every active unit capable of managing one, so you don't have to create them by hand.
Click Save.
Managing a Calendar
Click a calendar in the list to see its details. From More Options you can:
- Create all target houses — the same shortcut described above, run after the fact.
- Delete calendar.
Active vs. Completed
- Active calendars appear in the list of available fiscal years when creating Target Houses and Targets.
- Completed calendars are closed — the organization can no longer create targets for that year, which effectively closes out the Target Houses tied to it.
